Indian cuisine is characterized by a great variety of foods,
spices, and cooking techniques. Instead of multiple courses,
Indian meals are based around rice or bread served with an
assortment of savory dishes. Food is most often eaten
without cutlery, using instead the fingers of the right
hand.
Indian breads are a primary food in the daily menu of most
Indians. There are dry, moist, soft, and hard breads. So
depending upon the ingredients and method of preparation, a
variety of breads are made in India.
Rice is
another Indian staple food - especially in the south where
more rice is comsumed than wheat. There are numerous
varieties of rice and countless varieties of rice
preparations.
